We all know exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, and there are many benefits to being physically active. Getting motivated to work out is not always easy. When the lockdown first happened, I made a goal to work out on my exercise bike for 30 to 40 minutes a day. I am now proud to say that a few times a week I break my daily goal and reach 60 minutes on my bike session. I have completed over 800 sessions since the pandemic first began.

Here are a few tips for staying motivated to exercise in the New Year include:

1: Set specific, achievable goals for yourself, such as “I will walk 30 minutes a day” or “I will go to the gym three times a week.” Having clear goals can help you stay focused and motivated.

2: Find an activity that you enjoy. If you hate running, don’t force yourself to run every day. Instead, try a different activity that you enjoy, such as dancing, swimming, or biking.

3: Invite a friend to join you. Having a workout buddy can help keep you accountable and make your workouts more fun.
