A Powerful Letter from a Critical MD Taking Care of Covid Cases in ICU’s

Covid-19

I received this letter from a Critical Care Dr. from the NYC area. He has been on the forefront of Covid- 19 since March, trying to save countless patients of all ages in the ICU’s.

He asked in order to protect his job and the hospital to keep his name anonymous.

Here is what he wrote:

“I was thinking yesterday on the similarities between the wars in Vietnam and Afghanistan and the war of 2020 that I have been fighting these past ten months against the COVID-19 virus. The similarities are painfully blatant. 57,000 Americans died senselessly in Nam over 10 years, another 2300 in the middle east in about twice that time, and more 284,000 in 1/10 of that, just 10 months, from COVID 19.

I was fortunate to escape the personal horror of Vietnam aside from my grief over my friends who returned home in body bags. By the end of it, we all knew someone who wasn’t here anymore. The argument over the justification of that conflict led to political sabotage of the military effort, prolongation of the action, and the death of more Americans. For those who could have been sparred, we should have fought the war or ended it. While the politicos argued, we did neither and the death toll rose. I am awed by how little…
