A “Q and A” With Dr. A.J. Layon Where we stand in 2024 with COVID, Flu, and RSV — — How We Can Stay Healthy?
Dr. Layon, thank you for once again sharing your knowledge and over 30 years of expertise in the medical field. Please share with my readers the following:
Covid: Where are we with the disease today?
Who is most likely at risk for serious disease and hospitalization?
What can we do to protect ourselves?
What can you do if you do test positive?
Thank you for asking for this interview, and for the very timely and thoughtful queries. Before getting into each one in detail, I would ask you to allow me to engage on my 50-year-old cri de cour, my ongoing and, seemingly, unending critique of the US health system.
While our readers will likely understand the complexities and cost of the US health system, they are unlikely to know that there are multiple studies of the health systems in wealthy countries that show, over and over, that the US system is the least responsive,( 1) has the worst access, is the most expensive and has the worst outcomes in the world.
